EMI Shielding Case

Shielding is a kind of device in electrical engineering. In order to prevent the external electric, magnetic or electromagnetic field from interfering with the internal equipment or to avoid the influence of the electromagnetic of the equipment outside, the equipment is placed in a closed or nearly closed metal shell or metal mesh cover, which is called a shielding cover.

The shield case is composed of an supporting leg and a shield body, This component is mainly used in mobile phones, GPS and other fields, to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI), it shields the components on PCB board and LCM. 

Only materials with high magnetic conductivity, such as metals and iron, can achieve high shielding efficiency at very low frequencies, for example, the EMI shielding cover which is welded on PCB can use Copper-Nickel-Zinc alloy or tinplate skin, and white copper to be recommended because it’s better in welding, heat dissipation and steam.

The design of the sucker should be considered when using SMT. If the space of the tray, in where the shielding cover placed, is too large, then it’s easy to swing when the patch is placed, resulting in less than suction. The material must be placed in the tray, with about 1.0mm activity space. Too large will cause the material to swing, and too small may not be taken up.
