How to set tools in CNC machining center?
1. Tool setting
The tool position is the reference point on the tool. The relative motion path of the tool position is the machining path, also known as the programming path.
2. Tool setting and tool setting point
Tool setting means that the NC operator uses a certain measurement method to make the tool point coincide with the tool set point before starting the NC program. This tool setting tool can be used for tool setting. The operation is simple and the measurement data is accurate. After positioning the fixture and installing the parts on the CNC machine tool, use the gauge block, feeler gauge, dial indicator, etc., and use the coordinates on the CNC machine tool to set the machine tool. The determination of tool point is very important for operators, which directly affects the machining accuracy of parts and the accuracy of program control. During batch production, attention should be paid to the repeatability of tool point. Operators need to deepen their understanding of CNC equipment and master more knife setting skills.
(1) Selection principle of tool setting point
It is easy to align on the machine tool, easy to check during processing, easy to calculate during programming, and small tool setting error. The tool setting point can select a part of the point (such as the central part of the positioning hole) or a part other than the point (such as the point on the fixture or the machine tool), but the positioning reference plane must have a certain coordination relationship. In order to improve the tool setting accuracy and tool setting accuracy, the machining accuracy of the selected tool setting position should be higher than that of other positions, even if the requirements for the part accuracy are not high or the requirements for the program are not strict.
Select the parts with large contact surface, easy monitoring and stable processing as the tool setting point. The tool setting point shall be consistent with the design or process datum as far as possible, so as to avoid reducing the tool setting accuracy or even machining accuracy due to size conversion, and increasing the difficulty of NC program or part NC machining. In order to improve the machining accuracy of parts, the tool setting point should be selected according to the design or process of parts as much as possible. For example, for locating parts with holes, it is more appropriate to use the center of the hole as the tool set point. The accuracy of tool setting point of tool setting instrument depends not only on the accuracy of numerical control equipment, but also on the processing requirements of parts. Especially in batch production, it is necessary to consider the repeatability of the tool setting point, which can be checked by the coordinate value of the tool setting point relative to the machine tool origin.
